We are currently looking to hire an experienced Sr. Project manager Our Business is in Calgary, if you are willing to relocate, apply.

As such, the expectation is that the successful candidate will have significant history and familiarity with this service line based on past work experience, and will have local industry recognition/contacts (i.e.. Architects, developers/builders, contractors, etc.). In addition, the successful candidate will be able to build their industry client contact list, dedicating a component of their time to marketing and service line growth.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Leading the Construction team to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget

  • Ensure that commercial projects meet and exceed all objectives and are completed on time and within budget.

  • Ensure foremen and supervisors are running their teams as efficiently as possible between, scheduling the workers, and ensuring materials are ordered ahead of time.

  • Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates and monthly progress and billing forecasts

  • Planning and preparing team targets and milestones, and monitoring progress against established criteria

  • Ensure that equipment, materials, manpower are available on-site when needed

  • Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Preparing progress reports and issuing progress and efficiency updates to upper management

  • Motivating team members, including Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Site Foremen.

  • Reviewing the work of the Construction Crews to determine whether quality standards are being followed and to determine and execute improvements

  • Developing a team plan of work and monitoring system to ensure that projects are on a budget and on time and that each project is completed efficiently

  • Attend / Schedule meetings on-site with Contractors, clients and construction crews when needed

  • Provide team members with relevant information required for their work

  • Track and report project progress, job costing, detect deficiencies and execute proper corrections to get the projects back on track

  • Monitoring and Reporting Progress; Control Quality of deliverables and service, including quality inspections.

  • Ensure adherence to all H&S standards & report issues

  • Ensure client/supplier/subcontractor relationship is maintained at high level

  • Review supplier and subcontractor invoices before payment

  • Meeting with engineers, architects, clients on an ongoing basis regarding project objectives and progress

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience as a Sr. Project Manager

  • College or University degree in a construction-related field

  • Have in-depth knowledge as a Building Envelope Specialist and all the required permits from the city, and building codes and regulations.

  • Strong construction knowledge and experience with estimating, project coordination, administration and management.

  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Projects

  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication and time management skills

  • Ability to work well with others and lead team

  • Good attention to detail and creative problem-solving ability.

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate others.

  • Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met

  • Responsibilities to coordinate crew to resolve service issues

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Organize and oversee schedules and crew daily updates

  • Managing the quality of work and budget costs.

  • Update work schedules for crew and sub-contractors.

  • Identifying, developing and utilizing the talent pool to maximize productivity and quality of work.

  • Adhering to both budgetary and time constraints.

  • Visiting and inspecting job sites to assist management upon request.

  • Reporting on progress and challenges.

  • Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.

  • Prepare purchase orders for the employees or coordinate for delivery.

  • Ability to hire and train staff; conduct timely and constructive performance reviews.

  • Source sub-contractors, employees, vendors and materials to reduce cost and increase productivity.

  • Prepare meetings with clients, consultants, employees, suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation.

  • Must be reliable; work a 40-hour week.

  • Must be dependable; able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Be available and reliable to work a Monday to Friday schedule
